My essay will discuss The Meaning of Bu and Essence of Budo. Martial arts -Wimbledon Shorinji Kempo.
- Bu can be translated as meaning training for fighting or war and Self defense training.
- Budo can be translated as the way of fighting training. In traditional Chinese and Japanese kanji script the literal translation is to stop two spears. A way to shop fighting through martial arts training.
- The aim of Budo is to mould individuals who settle dispute – not always by physical force.These individuals can make a better society for everyone.
- Budo can be seen as a way of training our minds and bodies, even though most people in the developed world do not face life or death situations. It’s more than just self defence.
- Shorinji kempo students Kenshi experiences the notion that hard work is required to be successful in training and gaining new grades.
- Budo can give an individual the confidence to stand up for what we believe to be correct. Not just self defence.
